Movie Monster Legends: Ten of the beasts of the largest online Ever
Some monsters never die. Some of them are increasingly digging in the collective unconscious until they are rooted there forever. Here we take a look at ten of the most memorable creatures in the film industry. There is no real order to this list, since they are all good examples of horror film (and of opinion, after all, is subjective. Nowhere more than fans the film), but the big names speak for themselves. We will also look at some of the licensed merchandise that these creatures inspired, which has thrilled fans for decades.
Chucky:
The doll had first hit the screens in the 1988 horror classic "child's play '. After that came four sequels, and with each one his appeal was diminished as each film became more and more of a parody of what came before. Chucky should also receive the remake treatment, but the new version will be played by veteran movie villain Brad Dourif.
Pinhead:
Famously portrayed by Doug Bradley in eight feature films, Pinhead is one of the most striking images have come to the cinema. With his fetishistic outfit and hideous face maimed, he leads his followers through Cenobite realities to ensnare twisted individuals who crave the next big correction. The character has to come to big screen again with the new version soon the first Hellraiser.
Jason Voorhees
The mutated hick from Crystal Lake has terrorized audiences for decades and to date has appeared in films including the 9 films eleven o'clock Friday the 13th, Jason X and Freddy Vs Jason. A remake of Friday the 13th is about to go out and kick the series again. With its distinctive hockey mask and bloodied machete, Jason is an unforgettable movie monster.
Predator:
First meat grinding place in 1987 movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Predator has quickly become a monster of the film starring iconic Although only two movies until the franchise was AVP. With its distinctive features and abilities, the Predator grabbed ever more fans because is an implacable foe of the heroes from the movies. The Predator has gone on to become one of the most sought after collectibles of the story.
Ghostface
Surprisingly, the masked murderers SCREAM trilogy always rank very high moviegoers horrors treatment. While not strictly monsters, the image of the masked men, dressed murderers is one that permeated all of the horror industry for a time lkate 90, generating an entire generation of imitators lower I wanted to get into the car of the teen slasher reinvention.
Freddy Krueger:
The legendary dream demon, Freddy Krueger, brought terror to our screens in seven movies of his own, as well as a series of short-lived television, countless books and comics, and the lackluster Freddy Vs Jason feature film. Played by Robert Englund in all of the above, Freddy was (and is) an intense and memorable character. He worked best in the first film and third of his own franchise, when it was at its darkest. The first of his films, Nightmare on Elm Street, is being remade, with Krueger now played by Billy Bob Thornton.
Alien:
Originally designed by legendary artist HR Giger, the creature of the same name in the Alien movies (and indeed AVP and AVP: Requiem) is a monster movie instantly recognizable. Its very emotional and terrifying in equal measure, as evidenced by their longevity as a driving force in the industry cinema. Until the day of the first two Alien films stand as masterpieces of the genre and cinema as a whole, and the later films and spin-off Alien vs Predator may have been less of products that did nothing to diminish the power of the creature's presence when glimpsed onscreen.
PUFT MASHMALLOW MAN STAY
Stay Mr. PUFT only appeared in a film, that is, the classic first Ghostbusters movie of all time since 1984, but that brief appearance was enough to strengthen the character of the movie lovers' hearts and minds forever thanks to his face, really crazy. Who could forget the vision a giant man made of sweets, standing 112.5 meters high (according to Harold Ramis), attacking New York before being destroyed by four eccentric men in suits proton packs? He became an icon of comics, cartoons and toys
King Kong:
By 1933, the world gasped to see the original movie King Kong and all of its legendary stop-motion animation. The ingenious technique brought to life one of the most incredible beasts ever known, and a genre was born. The spawning several spin-offs, sequels and remakes, including Peter Jackson's impressive 2005 effort, there is little onscreen beasts others can aspire to the crown of most influential monster movies of all time. Incredibly influential in every way, the original film, and indeed the giant ape head, have become synonymous with the creation of the monster movie genre. Nobody will ever forget the iconic battle weather and the top of the Empire State Building.
Godzilla
The 1998 American remake may well have been a critical and commercial failure, but I could not change the fact that the Japanese monster famous Godzilla is the most recognized and revered of all monsters that have appeared in a movie. Harvesting over 50 appearances film, he has fought all sorts of strange attackers, led to cartoon shows, spin-off of franchises and a massive merchandising industry. The image and the idea Godzilla has proven very durable, and though the character was to be buried with the incredible Godzilla: Final Wars a few years ago, the legend continues with further giant monster projects. I swear, Tokyo must have been rebuilt more times than I've seen Star Wars. No, seriously. The giant Monster Action could have been a lot guys with big rubber suits, but has nevertheless thrilled audiences ever since the 1950s. Long may Godzilla reign as the king of beasts.
So you have ten of the monsters of the best films of all time. But the merchandising industry that generated?
There has long been an insatiable appetite for licensed movie monster memorabilia from fans around the world. Fortunately, there are some fantastic companies out there that are creating some really incredible work in this area, and fans are eager to get their hands on the latest articles. Let's look at some of the big names now to show the world with high quality licensed merchandise.
In the last decade, the licensed collectibles market has been dominated by a minority selected companies, who have earned their status as the best in the world through years of dedication and quality of their work. Leaders in the field of official merchandise of the film include companies such as McFarlane, NECA, Sideshow Collectibles and Gentle Giant. Mcfarlane cornered the market in action figure versions of monsters famous film in the late 90s with their legendary film crazy range, so as articulated figures of characters like Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Jason Voorhees and similar to the realms of affordable merchandise. Their box sets, like the much missed Alien Queen set or their equally popular jaws together were of a so high that it remained hot sellers for half a decade. McFarlane attention to detail and give the fans what they wanted was observed by several other companies trying to get on the train, but not yet Mcfarlane be improved.
Other collectibles companies looked to different avenues of items with their license to leave mark. NECA were hot on the heels of McFarlane and brought fans some of the best Large Scale figures and music Action Figures based on world market had ever seen, while artists such as Sideshow and Gentle Giant directed their energies toward making high quality items. In the case of Sideshow Collectibles amazing, many of these elements are considered museum quality, as is the craftsmanship that is dedicated to each of its impressive parts. When some be content to create simple articulated figures, Sideshow go for the big, huge, large pieces, and hire the best artists and sculptors to legendary creatures characters and life as collectible statues, dioramas, replicas and figures. The appetite for monster movie merchandise has seen the growth of an industry internationally. While breaking monsters terrorize cities and whole worlds, there will be fans who want one of their own.
Really though, the appetite for monsters, creatures, demons, beasts, aliens dn all those other fantastic creations shows no signs of fading. While the popularity of the films may have waned a little, and gender begins to be reinvented (Cloverfield, for example), we are on the verge of a new breed of terror ready to crush and destroy in the name of movie mayhem. You may long reign.
