What is this displacement of driving toy / game pre-1986?

Trying to figure out the name of the toy / game had. Moves to a role playing game where it became a little wheel and drove the car on the substance that appeared the past, there was a change of speed with reverse and forward, maybe two forward gears .. It was not a video game. The game was about the size of a hardcover book and ran into a couple of AA (?) Batteries. Almost everyone I saw was red, but I ended up finding a light blue. I had one before 1986, but I'm guessing that from 1981 to 1985 to be popular. I do not think it was made by any name in the big toy company (Hasbro, Kenner, Mattel, etc) and I think that may have been for Radio Shack / Tandy. There are no pic but bad design can help to refresh the memory of someone who has seen one. http://img339.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=carfqp.jpg

Can not remember the name but I remember having one.
