Should i wash my hair letting the shampoo touching my head skin?

i hear that the multi-functional shampoo need to come in contact with the skin to function its featured function, but some people say never should we let shampoo and conditioner touch our skin as it hamrs our hair root.
which is correct?

I never heard of multi-functional shampoo but I presume it’s like wash’n go and has a built in conditioner. Firstly the widea of shampoo is the wash your head, that includes your scalp as you need to remove the build up of natural oils on your scalp and products if you use them. The only reason conditioner is not supposed to touch your root area is that it can make you hair go limp, only concerning women who require alot of volume in their hair. Hope some of this helps.
