I have notes very well, but I want to mention the man who checked my bag and I scanned metal wand decector before you can enter the courtroom. He was not a police officer, in reality he was a retired officer. Does anyone know the correct name your position?

Reducing violence in schools through metal detectors

With the number of school shootings and violent crimes on the rise in schools, schools are seeking ways to reduce these events. One method is through the hiring of security and police officers to inspect students who walk through the doors. However, schools can reduce the number of security officers in need, by allowing teachers and other faculty members to use metal detectors. Not only can use in the school itself, but also sporting events and other school functions.

In fact, just think of all areas that a student could hold some kind of weapon in the school building without being detected. Most students are only required to pass through detectors of metals in the mornings. But how often do students have to pass again by the metal detection process after school has started? Some schools allow students to leave campus for lunch, this opens the door for students to sneak weapons within and outside the building through doors and even auxiliary gates if the school does not have an adequate security throughout the day.

By providing teachers with metal detectors, are able to check each student before entering the classroom. More teachers may be available to monitor and side doors that can not be seen at other times of day. Others faculty of the school such as janitors, counselors and office workers could help bolster security in the school. The more people who are in office and metal detectors are available means that students can not enter and exit the doors, hide weapons in lockers or backpacks and checked over of random times during the day, thus increasing school safety.

Violent acts occur in schools and are not limited to the corridors, cafeteria or common areas. These events are school functions and sporting events. It is difficult to handle a large number of people, but with metal detectors each entry in a school is able to protect students and their families to the best of their abilities. There are many teachers who teach and attend school functions and sports events regularly. Why not ask if they would be willing to give of their time to ensure security in their function? Many faculty members would more than happy to turn the metal detection of the entries in these events and would be honored to help protect their students.

Teachers and professors are often close to their students as they see them every day. They not only want their students are safe but also would like to attend functions school with the comfort of knowing that one of his students is not going to commit a violent act on them because they failed a test or just do not like the teacher.

The Schools are also using metal detectors to detect cell phones and other electronic devices are not allowed to have. Students, however, have become very smart and this is something that schools need to remember. Several students have learned they can put their cell phones behind belt buckles and blame the belt buckle for metal detector go. The girls are hiding their phones in their bras, because they know that the security guards and teachers not see there. They just blame their metal rings or buttons. Students go to school to learn, that schools should expect to be creative and try fool metal detectors and be prepared for these situations.

There are several models of hand held metal detector are available. They are relatively cheap, which only $ 60 to $ 80 each. Metal detectors are regularly used by law enforcement and security personnel, but this does not mean that those are the only people who can implement this technology. Are very sensitive and the sensitivity can be adjusted easily. They are able to detect metal objects as small as a quarter, so that guns, knives and other weapons are easy to detect. When metal is detected a high tone is emitted.

Metal detectors provide peace for all individuals involved in a school atmosphere. Even those parents who do not believe there should be metal detectors at school have the peace of mind their students are being protected against students who try to bring weapons to school. Parents who have children who may want to try to bring weapons to school know that students will not be caught and must suffer the consequences. Teachers and teachers can be sure that when they enter their classrooms they are also safe from violent acts that may be focused against him. Students also can attend school without having to worry about other students pulling a gun or knife on them when they disagree with each other. It's a win-win situation for everyone involved.
