Is premium gas burns cleaner for the emissions test (ethanol content)?
The car companies can add fuel ethanol to make gas burn cleaner. But does it add different amounts at each level of octane? How do you know how much to add? "Varies brand, location, etc? Since this question is about the emissions test, premium gasoline any cleaner burning ethanol content to ignore?
No gasoline premium does not necessarily burn cleaner. Higher octane numbers are purely to delay the spontaneous combustion engines have high compression and N effect resulting emissions. A higher content of ethanol allows gasoline to burn better to complete combustion because ethanol actually contains an element of oxygen used in the combustion process.
