Why NASA replace the shuttle for a replica 1960's?
It is as if they have gone backwards. They came with the shuttle the 80's and was great quantum leap in engineering technology and space travel due to the fact that he was so close to the times of the day Apollo, and the ideas of a futuristic spaceship. Now, in 2010, NASA will replace the aircraft / rocket hybrid with a ship called "Orion", which is basically a copy apollo 1960, but with a new type of rocket. What is all this? Why not improve the transport in place? Would be a better idea of reviving a replica date of Apollo 60's.
what NASA uses, must be reliable and profitable. the ship has proved neither they, and NASA has not enough money to make a transport vehicle of any kind. so they are using cheap, proven and reliable technology in place, stealing bits of transport worked and scrapped the rest. aerospace people are really anal about "if it is not broke do not fix it." Unfortunately, the shuttle is in bankruptcy. later, NASA simply do not have enough money for transportation improvements. would have to start from scratch, anyway. it would be cheaper to improve what they have, but more expensive than scrapping the whole concept of transport.
