NCAA Football Tickets – Betting on Bowl Game Blowouts II

While getting some NCAA football tickets to a thrilling, down-to-the-wire bowl game is always fun, there can be some equally good times had at the expense of a team getting blown out in a lopsided bowl game matchup. Here are a few bowl games this year that might just turn into a clunker- that is, unless you make the right bets. Here’s a handy cheat sheet of some potential bowl game blowouts.

Insight Bowl
Kansas – Minnesota: Spread: Kansas by 10
Do you dare chance a wager on this one? Yes. Bet on Kansas to blow the lid off this bowl. Minnesota’s record of 7-5, while technically enough to say they can hang with equally 7-5 Kansas, has a startling trend to it. In the past four games, Minnesota is 0-4. They lost to Northwestern, Michigan, Wisconsin and, in the regular season home finale, to Iowa. The Iowa loss was a 0-55 embarrassment, which coupled with Kansas’ narrow road win over Missouri to finish their regular season, has my betting money dancing the meringue around a magnificent sombrero. My insight on the Insight Bowl: Bet on Kansas in a blowout.

Sugar Bowl
Utah – Alabama: Spread: Alabama by 10.5
Do you dare chance a wager on this one? The Sugar Bowl will indeed be sweet for the fan who roots for the under-Ute. Some critics will point to the Hawaii-Georgia bowl game last year as an example of how an undefeated, yet smaller school cannot hang with a slightly imperfect SEC team. But since we are, technically, cyborg gambler-assassins from the future who see each game, each team, each instance as a separate, equally meaningful event, we have no emotional connection to a past BCS situation which human brains perceive to have some sort of significance. Utah is slightly superior on offense and ‘Bama is marginally better defensively. The result? Computing… Utah will cover the spread. Beep bo-beep! Computing new command: Get your tickets at StubHub.

St. Petersburg Bowl
Memphis – South Florida: Spread USF by 12.5
Do you dare chance a wager on this one? No. South Florida and Memphis look somewhat similar on paper. The Bulls and the Tigers have average scores in the high 20s on offense, and they both allow low-20s scores on defense. Tipping the scale in favor of the Bulls, though, is the fact that they are playing in St. Petersburg, Florida- a much closer game to their campus. Also, USF and Memphis both played Central Florida earlier this year. USF won their UCF game by seven, but Memphis lost theirs by seven. Both teams played Louisville and lost. This is a tough one to call, so we’re taking a breather on this one

Alamo Bowl
Northwestern – Missouri: Spread Missouri by 13
Do you dare chance a wager on this one? The largest point spread of the 2008 bowl game class demands that you at least consider it. But consider this: Northwestern, despite being woefully inferior to Missouri on offense (on the same sort of level that a Wildcat is inferior to a Tiger in the wild), actually enters the game coming off two straight wins, while Missouri comes in reeling after two straight losses, the last of which was a 62-21 drubbing which reminded those who bought NCAA football tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/ncaa-football-tickets to see the event of a football game between Godzilla and a nondescript, medium sized building. Yet, I really can’t see Northwestern getting into this one and covering the spread. Missouri, though flawed, was forged in the Cauldron Conference of Death, the Big 12, and will find Northwestern quite vulnerable. Bet on Missouri straight up, no point spreads, and then take home some tiny profit and sense of satisfaction.

Did my Geometry Book make a mistake?

An Action Figure of King Kong made to scale is 14 inches high.

“An action figure of Godzilla is made to the same scale.”

If King Kong was 45 Feet Tall and Godzilla was 51.75 feet tall, how tall is the Godzilla Action figure to the nearest tenth.

Wouldnt it be 14 inches if Godzilla is made to the same scales as King Kong? But the book says im wrong.
Harris, thanks for the explanation, but i already knew that. i just wanted clarification

No. The book is right. To scale means that each action figure is made to the same ratio as the real deal.

45/14 = 51.75/x

x = 16.1 inches
