What do religious people think of video games like Doom?
Man, Doom 3 is one of the best games I’ve ever played. Here’s the general story. It’s set in the year 2145, and it takes place on Mars. A super corporation called the UAC is conducting teleportation and inter-dimensional travel experiments. They inadvertently opened a portal to Hell, and demons come flooding through, wiping out most of the Martian colony. You’re a commando space marine that has to somehow deal with this horrific invasion. It’s a 1st person shooter game, and lots of shootouts with demons and zombies take place.
What do religious people think of games like Doom?
I’m not religious, but I don’t like games where you have to kill real people. I like games where you kill demons, monsters, zombies, etc., because it is obviously fantasy. However, I was playing Medal of Honor and some of the Germans reminded me of people I know and don’t like. After a while, I started to enjoy killing them a little too much so I quit.
