What is the drawing style called using dots for comics that was popular in the 50s?
At this link, the cover of this issue of Psychology Today embodies the style. It’s not the best image, but you can kind of see it.
its not an artistic style like the two people above answered, it was a printing technique used to make printing cheap.
it was called “DOT PRESS” printing. FYI this was not what roy lechstien used, he instead did the dots by hand, faking the effect of dotpress four color printing.
